No Great Singer After SP Balu?
This is the doubt one gets after looking at the bunch of Telugu singers who are doing rounds all over the world. When Bollywood is dominated by Hindi singers and Kollywood by Tamil singers, why Tollywood is having no one after the great SP Balasubrahmanyam?
Many young and popular singers who have lot of fan base through their small-screen activities are getting no work in Tollywood. In fact they are getting limited to unpopular songs and for small movies. With opportunities dying down, these people are concentrating on live-events, orchestras and simply 'band melam' programs to sustain. All the present lead singers in Tollywood like Karthik, Adnan Sami, Shreya Goshal are imported products only and one cannot understand why our music directors prefer non-locals only. Don't they feel like they are suppressing our local talent?
A noted music director shared that it is just for craze and to show it to producers that their music is costly, our 'musicians' are roping people from other languages. Even after winning national level singing shows, our singers are not getting craze because of our 'self centric' music directors.
