Sonu Sood as Sher Khan in Ram Charan's Zanjeer:
Sonu’s name was earlier considered friend character of Sher Khan for the role, the makers went ahead and finalised Arjun. But later Arjun he couldn’t find time for the project so the makers went to Sonu again.”Yes I have been approached for the role of Sher Khan. But nothing has been finalised yet. I have not confirmed the project on paper yet,” said Sonu.
Actor Pran had given a memorable performance as Sher Khan sporting a typical Pathan’s look with long hair and kohl-lined eyes in Prakash Mehra’s 1973 hit. Most of the offers he got was negative ones. Having Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt opted out of ‘Zanjeer’ quoting the reason of call sheets, Sonu has agreed that they approached him for dates but could not manage to give them.
Ram Charan teja stepping into the shoes of Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra will essay the role of Jaya Bachchan.
