Telugu Audience Not Encouraging Family Movies?
The genre of family movies used to run high till the late 90s and early 2000s but eventually the flavor has been missing. So, this has resulted in a question as to what would be the fate of the family heroes. Notable among them are the duo of Manly star Jagapathi Babu and family star Srikanth.
Once upon a time the duo used to rule with family movies but nowadays such flicks are not coming. Even if they come they don't work at the Box Office. So, what could be the fate of these heroes. As such, a new trend is emerging regarding family flicks and that is in the form of the TV serials and soaps.
When someone is making a film for Rs 1 crore and selling for Rs 2 crores, why not use a similar formula on small screen. So, instead of making it like a telefilm making it in proper film standards is the idea. But it will be aired on TV. These are the days wherein the idea should be removed that TV is small and cinema is big.
With LEDs and home theatres at home, people are getting nearly 30%-40% experience of a theatre sitting at home. So, if this concept works then the makers can take Srikanth or Jagapathi Babu as the heroes. Obviously people would be interested to watch when such names are part of a project.
