Why Nagarjuna, Why Not Balakrishna??
Balakrishna is the only hero among his contemporaries that could fit in a mythological role. Most of us agree with this statement and we have seen Balakrishna looking absolutely majestic in the films Aditya 369 and Sri Krishnarjuna Vijayam. No other hero from his competitors could dream of donning such characters.
In spite of having an edge over others, somehow Balakrishna failed in clicking in mythological genre. Leaving his Sri Krishna Devarayalu cameo aside, Sri Krishnarjuna Vijayam and Sri Rama Rajyam failed to strike the right chords with the audience. Balakrishna couldn't do what his legendary father has done effortlessly in tens of films.
On the other hand, Nagarjuna has proved a perfect successor to ANR by playing the roles of Annamayya and Sri Rama Dasu to the T. ANR was known for playing such roles in the past and Nagarjuna has outdone his father in his genre. He has been receiving accolades for his performance as Shirdi Sai. Which means he has just gone a step ahead of his father. Wonder why Balakrishna failed whenever he tried something like his father. Remember Okka Magadu, Adhinayakudu and Pandu Rangadu?
