Generally heroines are cast in a movie basing on both their popularity and glamour quotient. At least this saves films from crisis, as B-C centre collections are connected to these factors. But for small movies, the equation is different and here is it.
For small movies, the major source of income is not from theatre collections or through physical sales of DVDs. Except movies like 'Ee Rojullo', rest depend on the money paid by TV channels for satellite rights. Moreover these makers are now casting heroines liked by channels such that they can get 80% of their budget recovered easily. One such beauty is Telugu girl Swathi, who is not having a hit track record but still gets huge payments for her movies through digital rights. She is now part of 'Swamy Ra Ra' and 'Bangaru Kodi Petta', while two more flicks are in the pipeline. No one knows exact reason behind this.
Off course, we cannot rule out Swathi's performance and stylish voice but our makers found her hot for satellite rights only. Sad but true!
