Radha's Younger Daughter Thulasi Nair Lost 12 Kilos for Mani Ratnam's Kadal:
Thulasi Nair, the younger daughter of yesteryear actress Radha, got a dream debut in the form of acclaimed director Mani Ratnam's Kadal. After she was auditioned for the first time, Mani felt that this 15-year-old girl is too young for the role and she wasn't selected. Although Samantha was roped to play the female lead, with her mystery illness the role came back to Thulasi again.
Mani is known as the tough task maker and never compromises on any aspect of the film making be it casting or output. Thulasi had to go for auditioning again, lost around 12-kilos and attended 20-day acting workshop before facing the camera. Mani is one director who never says pack-up until he gets what he wants from the actors and every time Thulasi completes the shot, she used to look towards the director to know if he is happy with the output.
Thulasi will be romancing yesteryear actor Karthik's Son Goutham in this love story which revolves around the life of the fisherman. Seems like, this teenage beauty was destined to get this memorable role in Mani's film!
