Rajamouli Says Eega is Original | Eega Not a Copy of Australian short film Cockroach

Rajamouli Says Eega is Original:

Comparisons made by neitizens between Tollywood's graphical extravaganza Eega and Australian short film Cockroach have irked SS Rajamouli who had put in lot of effort to make a film in which a FLY takes a centrestage. He now choose to clarify to put an end to the parallels drawn between the two flicks.

The Ace Filmmaker declares that his film is original, but he came across a film called 'Fluke' which has similar storyline to that of Eega. "It's purely a coincidence. Even though the storyline of my film was 15-years-old, unfortunately I have no proof to prove it. Earlier too I have faced the criticism that a few scenes from Magadheera were taken from Hollywood films and the storyline of Marayada Ramanna is lifted straight away from our hospitality. But, I would like to clarify that Eega is original," says the director.

"In fact, after taking up the project Eega, I had gone through many animation films done with animals. Then I came across a film called fluke, which mayn't be that popular. The story of the film is about a Guy who dies and reincarnated as a Dog and he wants to take revenge on the person who killed him. No one will compare Fluke and Cockroach, but everyone will draw parallels between Eega and Cockroach," he adds.

Rajamouli atlast clarified the doubts of critics, who have been accusing Rajamouli on copying subjects from Hollywood films. So, it's better to put an end to the baseless accusations by giving the credit of celluloid wonder to Jakkanna!
