Rebel Effect: Dil Raju in losses
Dil Raju, the man with midas touch, seems to have landed in big trouble by acquiring the Nizam theatrical rights of the Prabhas starrer Rebel for a whooping price and releasing it in the wrong time despite knowing the fact that Ganesh Immersion and Telangana March would affect the openings in a big way.
Rebel collected highest ever first day collections in Prabhas career. But the happiness didn't last for long, it was followed by Immersion and March. Most of the theaters in Hyderabad were closed on Saturday and there is 100 percent shut down of single screens & multiplexes on Sunday. Now, the bandh call given by Telanganites on Monday is like adding fuel to fire.
Dil Raju bagged the Nizam rights of Rebel for Rs 9.5 crores which is the highest in Prabhas career. With Mixed Response and Shut Down Of Theaters, it's tough for distributors and buyers to recover at least the investment. It would be miracle if Rebel lands in profit zone. There's nothing Dil Raju could do now, other than crying foul!
