ANR's Comments On Cinema & Ladies

Akkineni Nageswara Rao's Comments On Cinema & Ladies:

Legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao became the epicentre of a controversy now after talking about the skimpy outfits of modern women. However, if one could understand the context he is talking about, it makes much sense.

After attending a book inauguration function, Akkineni stated that Indian Cinema, and especially Telugu cinema, is falling below standards and losing panache with regular masala. 'We've invented dances, fights and comedy scenes to entertain us and we are struck there. That is why Telugu films are unable to make it to International film festivals', said Akkineni. He adds that the adverse affect of Telugu cinema is making women's dresses shortened every day. Cine analysts say that Akkineni has smoothly warned Telugu directors to focus less on skin-shows and concentrate more on fascinating scripts.

Earlier in 80s and 90s we have at least some meaningful cinema that made us proud, but now it is only money minting content, says a critic. We have to see when Telugu films will get their lost glory like in 80s and 90s where we got some variety of stories and characterization apart from bagging awards.
