Kamal Hassan Call it Quits!
Following the wide range of protests against the idea of going for a simultaneous TV and Theatrical release of his upcoming film Vishwaroopam, Kamal Haasan dropped his radical decision which could have been a game changer if implemented.
Knowing about Kamal's plans to get the maximum pre-release business done using other mediums like TV and Internet, Tamilnadu theatre owners and distributors association have thought of even imposing a ban on Vishwaroopam. So, Kamal has decided to call it quits after much thought post discussing with trade circles and film fraternity. The makers of the film have already informed the DTH networks about the change of plans.
Sources say, Kamal decided to backtrack his TV release plans only for the Tamil and Telugu versions as the star enjoys a huge theatrical business in both these neighboring states, but for the Hindi version he may go ahead with the direct release on television.
Although the biggies in the trade have partly succeeded in not making the change happen, Kamal's vision has been a revolution in the Entertainment Industry and he planted the idea of TV release in every filmmakers mind. Sooner or later, this path breaking idea will be the future of the Industry to fight the odds like piracy and theater mafia.
