Actress Priyanka Chopra who has by far stayed away from doing item numbers, has finally joined the bandwagon by agreeing to do so. And not just one, but Priyanka will be doing two item numbers very soon.
While her item song ‘Pinky’ in Apoorva Lakhia’s ‘Zanjeer’ is already the talk of the town, the actress has given her nod to do another item number in Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Shootout At Wadala’.
The item song is called ‘Babli Badmaash Hai’ and it will be shot very soon.
However, Priyanka had her own rules for doing an item number and the makers had quite a tough time to come up with a song that passed Priyanka’s morality test.
A source close to the project informs, “Three songs were run past her. She finally flipped for ‘Babli Badmaash Hai’. The song has been composed by Anu Malik and will be sung by Sunidhi Chauhan.”
‘Shootout At Wadala’ is a period thriller with the backdrop of 1980s and therefore the makers have taken inspirations from the dance numbers of actress like Parveen Babi and Zeenat Aman for the song.
When contacted, Ekta Kapoor also confirmed the reports of Priyanka doing an item number in her film and she is extremely confident of it turning out a great one.
“Mark my words, it will be the track of the year,” she stated.
‘Shootout At Wadala’ stars John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Tusshar Kapoor, Sonu Sood and Kangna Rnaut in the lead roles. It’s scheduled to hit the screens on May 1.
