Ram Charan Tej is debuting into Bollywood with his remake film ‘Zanjeer’ directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Bollywood top heroine Priyanka Chopra is pairing with him in this movie. This film is slated to release on May 10th.
Ram Charan Tej in an interview given to a film magazine has said ‘In fact, the film is not a 100% remake of Zanjeer played by Amitabh Bachchan 27 years ago. Except few dedicated scenes remaining film has its own charm and style of its own. But, the base line of the film will be same of the original version.
Hence, the original scriptwriters Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar of Amitabh’s ‘Zanjeer’ have been demanding Rs.6 crore royalty otherwise threaten to drag the issue to court.I hope the producers of the film Amit Mehra and Reliance Entertainment will negotiate with them and find an amicable solution to it
before the release. However, it doesn’t affect the shooting.”
“I am happy to find myself in Police Uniform for the first time in my career. So, I behave myself in the sets maintaining the dignity of it. I am happy to see Amitabh sir came to sets and gave his blessings to me for attempting his film. He just greeted us on the sets but not given any suggestions to me or anyone about this film.
Even if some one wants to remake my latest Telugu film ‘Nayak,’ I don’t to act in it as I am not interested to act in my own remake films. I am happy a great actor like Sanjay Dutt sir is convinced to enact Pran sir’s role in this film, though he initially refused to join us. Priyanka and I are trying to align
with our linguistic strengths. While she is learning Telugu from me, I am learning Hindi from her. It makes us feel both are sailing in same boat,” says Ram Charan Tej.
