Support and wishes are pouring for Kamal Hassan over the ban on his prestigious project Vishwaroopam from every corner of the nation. Be it media, social media and public, people are criticising the Tamil Nadu government for halting the release and troubling the actor.

Bollywood superstars like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, directors like Mahesh Bhatt, Madhur Bhandarkar and many have already raised their voices against the ban. Now, the Kannada film industry has come forward to support Kamal Hassan, who shares a good relationship with Sandalwood stars just like Rajanikanth.

Multilingual film Vishwaroopam was originally slated to for release on January 25. But on the eve of its release, the state government imposed a sudden ban for 15 days and stopped the release in Tamil Nadu. Following this, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh governments decide to do the same but lifted after a few days.

National Award winning filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli has defended the Censor Board for clearing the film and said, "If the film has been cleared by the film certification board, there is no reason why it should not be screened." Journalist and filmmaker Agni Sreedhar took to social media to share his opinion. He wrote, "Dear friends, the very fact that not even a single Muslim raised any objection to 'vshvaroopam' after its release in Karnataka proves that the film is not anti-Islam.
