Zanjeer as Ram Charan's 'Rusthum'?
After lot of dilly-dallying, the makers of Ram Charan's much anticipated Hindi debut 'Zanjeer' have apparently come to a unison about its Telugu title. According to reports from the unit, the makers are planning to opt for 'Rusthum' which incidentally is a title for Mega Star Chiranjeevi's 1984 hit film.
Ever since it is said that Amitabh Bachchan's 1973 blockbuster is being remade into Telugu and Hindi simultaneously, there is huge buzz on its Telugu title. Titles like 'Merupu' and others have done rounds but finally the makers are going with 'Rusthum'. Even Ram Charan is showing high interest on this title. Even earlier Pawan Kalyan has shown interest in this title for one of his film but it didn't work. Also, Pawan was seen sporting a shirt (Rusthum) in his 'Annavaram' film.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Devi Sri Prasad has scored the music. Priyanka Chopra is the female lead. Sanjay Dutt, Atul Kulkarni, Mahie Gill and others essay significant roles in the film. Charan dons a cop hat. The buzz is that Telugu rights have been bought by Geetha Arts. And the makers are planning to release its trailer in couple of weeks from now.
So as of now 'Zanjeer' is 'Rusthum' in Telugu. An official announcement is yet to come. Let's wait and watch for more updates from close quarters.
