Actress Kangna Ranaut has started shooting for her latest film ‘Rajjo’. In the film, Kangna is playing a role of a courtesan and the makers have built huge sets to give the real look to their film.
A source informs that the makers had once thought to shoot their film at red light areas in Mumbai but it wasn’t feasible as the film requires having long shooting schedule.
Later, they decided to create the sets resembling to real locations in Borivali.
A source close to the film reveals, “Since the film is based on mujra houses that are dying a slow death, we are trying to recreate the opulence of the 1972 classic ‘Pakeezah’.”
The source also informs that theirs is one of biggest sets ever built for such a film and the production house has spent Rs.5 crore to build it.
Interestingly, Atul Tiwari, the writer of ‘Rajjo’, himself visited the Hira Mandi in Lahore, Pakistan to have an idea about sets building.
Confirming the reports, Vishwas Patil, the director of the film said, “We wanted to give a very realistic look to our film for which extensive research was done. The sets have been done by Munish Sappal.”
Meanwhile, Kangna has been working hard for her role in ‘Rajjo’. She will also be seen performing a couple of mujras in the film.
