From that nominees list film-lovers would select award winners by voting system through internet. The special juries would again judge the best between those which were selected by fans and would announce the names of award winners.

SIIMA is wishing to promote the south Indian film Industry on a global platform. The South Indian film industry found to have largest number of releases in India. In spite of it, the Indian Box-office collections of a hit South Indian movie could not balance with any Bollywood hit movie.

The overseas revenue collection of a South Indian film is just 10% of the same type of Bollywood film. Industry sources have felt that SIIMA would help the South Indian Cinema to reach its global viewers and increase overseas revenues.

The hosts of the award function are Madhavan and Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna. Sameera Reddy, Hansika, Shruti Haasan, Amala Paul, Charmi, Mamta Mohandas and many more are giving their powerful performance in the starlit evening.

There will be special showing of upcoming crazy movies in South India. Funds are being collected in the name of SIIMA for the education of 25 poor children.
