This movie which has managed to create a lot of buzz for the unique pairing of Shahid and Priyanka has finally hit the screens. Let see how it fares.

The movie starts with 1960′s where Govind comes to Mumbai for a livelihood and falls in love with actress Rukhsar. Technical Aspects :
This movie is technically very sound and a special mention to the art direction department. Muneesh Sappel has managed to create sets which depict three era’s beautifully. His work in the set based in 1960 is splendid. Computer Graphics work complements the sets beautifully. An old look Mumbai has been created very nicely and takes you back to the good old days. Music by Sajid Wajid is a plus point in the movie as all the songs are really good. Lyrics of the songs complements the movie nicely. Cinematography is really good in the movie and shows the difference between three generations aptly. Dialogues by Kunak Kohli are the highlight of the film. He manages to carry out the romantic flavor in his dialogues particularly with Javed’s character set in Lahore. Kunal Kohli doesn’t try to complicate the movie and keeps it simple and fresh. He has chosen a unique way of story telling which would surely be liked by everyone. His direction is crisp and manages to show complications of love beautifully in all the three generations.
Plus Points :
The most important and interesting plus point of this movie is its unique story telling. Kunal Kohli manages to nicely showcase love in all three generations without intermixing them or by any reincarnation factor. Shahid Kapur in the role of Javed set in Lahore is especially good and looks dashing. His character reminds you of Aamir Khan in Fanaa. He has done all the three roles with perfect ease and great comfort level. He manages to bring out strong emotions in the other two roles based in the 1960′s and modern era. Priyanka Chopra looks lovely in all three generations and plays her part aptly. Though she has a equal role in the film her role is completely over shadowed by Shahid Kapur’s performance. This is Shahid’s best performance till date. The movie has a young and romantic feel all over and is beautifully narrated all throughout. Director Kunal Kohli successfully manages to engage the audience with simple love stories narrated beautifully. Climax of the movie in really interesting and is exceptionally narrated.
Minus Points :
The movie is narrated in such a way that it has very less dull moments. One song set in present day generation could been omitted. Out of the three generations shown in the movie, the love story set in 1960 is slightly slow for the first 10 to 15 minutes of the movie. Music for the song set in that generation could have been little better as music was important part in movies of that time. Priyanka Chopra’s costumes in the era look one and the same and could have been a lot better as she does the role of an actress.
Final Word :
On the whole, Teri Meri Kahaani is one movie which is short and really sweet. This movie depicts love in all three generations very romantically which would be be loved thoroughly by the younger generation. Brisk pacing, great music and some wonderful dialogues are sure shot plus points. With an unusual story telling and uncomplicated narration Teri Meri Kahaani is one film you wouldn’t regret watching. Go for it.
