Surya Brothers: 42 Min Removed (Deleted Scenes):
Suriya's Brothers is undoubtedly the much-awaited film of the year, as it has a novel concept and the director of the film happens to be critically acclaimed KV Anand (Veedokkade, Rangam fame).
KV Anand was adamant to remove some scenes in the film initially, but have been forced to compromise in the end due to excess runtime. When the director sat in the edit room to prepare the final copy, he realized that the total runtime was 3 1/2 hours which is way beyond the limit. Even though he felt all those scenes were integral part of the story, he has no option but to chop them. After the final edit, the runtime of the film was 2 hours and 48 minutes which means 42 minutes of the original version was chopped to improve the viewing experience.
The film is about the lives of Siamese twins Akilan and Vimalan, played by Suriya. Kajal will be seen as his love interest. Around 2250 graphic shots were used for the scenes where both the twins will appear together, setting a new benchmark. A worldwide release of Brothers in planned on October 12, competing with Tollywood biggies Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu and Damarukam.
