Sutti Velu: A Saint amidst Foxes:
Another golden chapter ended with the demise of the noted artist Sutti Velu. But unlike the regular cine folks, he lived a life differently. Maximum time the artistes keep depending on producers and come up with clauses like "Unless you pay I won't do dubbing", creating artificial demand and hiking rates for call sheets, taking loans and not returning etc.
But Velu never went to anyone for roles. It is the great Jandhyala who identified and roped him in for his movies. From then on, the moviemakers called, made him do the roles, some paid full or some paid half. Most of them didn't pay Velu in full but he got another chance but not the promised money.
It is heard that many ditched him by taking money and never returning it. Like a Karmayogi, Velu has been doing his work. He used to be shy asking others to return his money. Right from start his life was simple. He was very selfless and has no own house in Hyderabad, he had only one in Chennai.
Ultimately, it was his goodness that no one cared but he lived like a Saint amidst foxes. He used to talk philosophy when sitting in a group and there was no cinema talk. He was a god fearing man who believed that our life's switch is in God hands and he will switch it off when he wants. Missing you Sutti Velu...
