Rajamouli's Makkhi Flies High | Makkhi Satellite Rights Sold for 22 Crores

Rajamouli's Makkhi Flies High:

Ace filmmaker Rajamouli got the shock of his life with the dismal performance of his graphical extravaganza Makkhi (Eega Hindi version) at the Box Office, despite receiving great reviews and good word of mouth.

Makkhi has collected just Rs 2.06 crores in its opening weekend and the net total was Rs 2.90 crores at the end of first six days. Rajamouli mayn't have anticipated this poor reception for a film which is widely appreciated by critics and movie lovers who had seen it. Replasing Nani with a known face in Bollywood might have helped the film to reach out to North Indians, but it's too late by then. No doubt that this Tollywood hotshot director is upset over Makkhi's failure. But, he has got something to cheer up now.

Finally, the much-needed relief has come for Rajamouli with the satellite rights of the Hindi version fetching a whooping Rs 8 crore which is a never heard amount for a Telugu dubbing flick. This will give a big boost for this tough taskmaker who's upcoming film is a Rs 60 crore bi-lingual (Telugu-Hindi).
