Book on RGV Named Vodka with Varma:
‘Vodka with Varma’ is the book about nationally renowned film director and producer Ram Gopal Varma. Sira Sri, the film critic and lyricist penned the book both in Telugu and English. He released the Cover Page of the Telugu version today to media and in his Press Note he stated, “As a film critic I observed him from a distance, as a lyricist I observed him close.
I discovered unimaginable dimensions in him those cannot be ignored. I chronicled my observations in a book and titled it as ‘Vodka With Varma’. The book carries two to three years of my journey into Varma’s world, his friends, his family members, his protégés and his colleagues in the film industry. I met not just those who curse him, those who catch their head on hearing his name, but also those who rise their head on hearing his name. All those details and pictures are part of this book”. The icing on the cake is that Puri Jagannath wrote foreword for the Telugu version of ‘Vodka with Varma’.
The foreword from director Puri Jagannadh in this book gives a right kick. I’m wholeheartedly thankful to him. First I am releasing the book in Telugu and the English version is coming up in January-February, as lot of work need to be done on that”, says the author.
Saying about the never before aspect from the book, the author revealed, “Till date, Varma’s ex-wife Mrs Ratna was never seen in print or electronic media. Her exclusive interview is part of the book under the chapter ‘Coffee With Varma’s Wife’. Her words on Varma, unthinkable aspects about him, the reasons for divorce are mentioned here.
The chapter ‘Devil’s Daughter’ will be a shocking surprise because it contains the insight of Revathi, Varma’s daughter. Why I called her Devil’s daughter is something you will understand when you read the chapter completely.
