Complaint against AP Censor Board officer A Dhanalakshmi:


Some of the members in the Regional Censor Board met Ambika Soni, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, in Delhi and lodged a formal complaint against A. Dhanalakshmi, the regional officer of the AP Censor Board.

They recently submitted a memorandum against Dhanalakshmi, rising accusations ranging from corruption to the fact that she is not a native Telugu speaker and therefore “unfit to censor Telugu movies”.

Vidya Sagar, a senior member of the Censor Board who was part of the team that met Ambika Soni, claimed that the regional officer is acting against the rules. “There are nearly 130 members in the AP Censor Board. But when big films are submitted for censorship, Dhanalakshmi indulges in favouritism. When we went to Delhi to submit our formal complaint, Ambikaji promised us that she will look into this matter.
