Ramya wins Audi RITZ 2012 Award:
The sizzling actress with high profile career No 1 of Kannada cinema Ramya alias Divya Spandana wins the first of its kind RITZ Icon Award for 2012. The award was presented at Grand Hilton Chennai on September 28 by Mr Dhanu to Ramya. Ramya received the award with Prabhu Deva on the same platform. Prabhu Deva dancing sensation of this country, actor and director was awarded South Indian Icon of the year.
Actors Rima Kallingal, Taapsee Pannu, Trisha Krishnan, Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati were other films stars who received Awards for Iconic Entertainers of the Year.
RITZ, South India’s Premier Lifestyle Magazine event had the combination of bureaucrats, entrepreneurs, fashion designers and social activists for the award
Besides top actress of Kannada cinema Ramya receiving the award the awards were presented to Sashikant Naidu, fashion designer; Suhani Pittie, jewellery designer, Sikkil Gurucharan, musician, Ambi Subramaniam, musician; Sharan Apparao, art entrepreneur; Bhavna Botta entrepreneur despite her condition of athetoid cerebral palsy; designer Manoviraj Khosla; Anirudh Ravichander, film music composer; Praveen Kumar IAS, Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu; Valarmathi of ISRO; Mr. Traffic Ramaswamy, social activist and Senthil Kumar Gopalan of the NGO Payir.
Other Awardees included Producer Elred Kumar for KO (Tamil), Director Rajesh Pillai and Producer Listin Stephen for Traffic (Malayalam), Producer Gopichand Achanta and director Sreenu Vaitla for Dookudu (Telugu) and director Nagashekar for Sanju Weds Geetha (Kannada).
A galaxy of film personalities descended in Chennai from all parts of south India for the elegant RITZ Icon Awards ceremony. Aadhi Pinnisetty, Poornima Bhagyaraj and son Shantanoo, Simran with husband Deepak Bagga, director AR Murugadoss, Producers AM Rathnam, Kalaipuli S Dhanu and several others graced the event.
