Anne Hathaway: 'I Looked Like My Gay Brother'
Anne Hathaway proved she can be just as brassy as that other awards season darling, Jennifer Lawrence, at a recent panel interview for Les Mis.
"I Looked Like My Gay Brother" Much has been made of Anne Hathaway's performance in the upcoming Les Miserables. The words "Oscar" and "frontrunner" are being tossed around every time anyone writes about her performance as Fantine. ("Showstopper," "breathtaking," and "waifish" are also in critical danger of overuse.)
She lost about 25 pounds for the role to look as "near death" (her words) as possible, but it was the shaving of her head that evoked our favorite quote from her panel interview at Friday's New York screening of the movie. "When I eventually looked in the mirror I just thought I looked like my gay brother," she told the audience.
