Nagarjuna Upset with Ban on Film Hoardings:
Strange are the ways of Telugu Producers Council. Surprisingly, the Council has imposed ban on hoardings, vinyls and lollipops (on dividers) which play a pivotal role in making the film reach out to the audience from November 1.
These measures were taken to keep a check on the rising publicity cost and also to cut down the production cost of films. "Producers will benefit from this ban in a big way. Due to heavy competition among big budgeted films, several new hoardings were coming up every day. Few production houses were spending around Rs 1.5 crore for publicity through hoardings and lollipops per film. With the ban coming into affect, producers will save Rs 50 lakhs each on an average," says Prasanna Kumar, Producers Council member.
While some people welcomed the move, few others raised objections to imposing ban saying producers should have the freedom to decide the publicity cost of their films. Senior hero Nagarjuna recently expressed his displeasure over the new decision taken by the Producers Council.
