Rana Comes in Support of CGR:
Rana Daggubati is agreeing with the opinion that Telugu films are losing freedom of expression due to the controversies created by some people with vested interests.
The actor came in support of Pawan Kalyan's film Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu which was caught up in controversy post the release with few political outfits stalling the screening of the film in Telangana region. "I'm yet to watch the film. One thing is clear that no filmmaker makes a film to hurt the sentiments of people. If a director uses an issue or a topic as reference, what's wrong in it! There is Censor Board to look after if there is anything objectionable in a movie before issuing the certificate. Puri informed Me about his idea of using my name for Prakash Raj who played Villain in the film. If there is anyone who should be annoyed with CGR, it should be me. (he laughs)," says the actor.
The buzz making rounds in the film circles is that Rana's upcoming film Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum touches the mining mafia in Bellary and the Villain's role is loosely based on former Karnataka minister and OMC chief Gali Janardhan Reddy. Will KVJ land in the list of controversial films? We could get clarity on this query only after the release (Nov 9 or Nov 16).
