Nayak Movie Title Controversy:
After recent title row for Nagarjuna-Anushka starrer 'Dhamarukam' which was changed to 'Damarukam', the latest film to face this problem is Ram Charan's 'Nayak'. For 'Dhamarukam', a producer who earlier registered a film with same title took up a protest against Nag's 'Damarukam' which didn't work since their registration was expired and no longer valid and has been allotted to RR Movie Makers.
But this time, it is different for 'Naayak' since a section of people have lodged protest and demanding the makers of the film to opt for title change. The protest is from Girijans aka Adivasis who have a surname Nayak or Naik or Naayak. They've been spurring a controversy saying that it is hurting their sentiments and belittling their community name.
A student association of Girijan community is going ahead and warned that they stop screening of 'Nayak' if they continue the old title. However, no one from 'Naayak' unit have responded to this controversy yet. Let's see what's gonna happen!
