Bollywood power couple Ajay Devgn and Kajol, who are both known to be maha choosey about their films and endorsements, are also unanimous about taking up social causes. The two stars will join ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in an initiative to raise awareness about children’s right to education through the Support My School Campaign.
For it, the three will participate in a 12-hour live telethon today in a bid to raise awareness and funds. An insider shares that this is not the first time that the star couple is lending support to this cause. “Last year too, Ajay donated around Rs10 lakh towards it,” says an insider.
Talking about supporting the campaign, Ajay says, “Both Kajol and I strongly believe in the cause of education and support it too. Every child has a right to education and we all as individuals must try our best to ensure that children are not deprived of their basic right. As celebs, we can and should try to do the best possible to help bring about the awareness for such noble causes and help them in any and every way. We are parents ourselves and know that there is no substitute for education in life. So, we are glad to be a part of such an initiative.”
Ajay has also been the brand ambassador for Save The Girl Child Campaign along with Kajol, which was a campaign backed by the Maharashtra government.
Meanwhile, the actor has recently wrapped his Himmatwala schedule and is slated to join filmmaker Prakash Jha in Bhopal for a start to finish schedule of Satyagraha from February 14.
