The spy thriller Viswaroopam has raked in over Rs 200 crore worldwide. Film's leading lady Pooja Kumar broke the news at the recent concert in New Jersey.
If these reports are to be believed, Kamal Haasan will be the first South actor to enter the elite club of Rs 200 crore. The collections of Viswaroopam were still strong in Tamilnadu and recording decent collections in rest of the territories.
A film made with a budget of Rs 95 crore collecting more than double the investment even after facing some serious issues like the ban of theatrical release is a remarkable achievement. Viswaroopam's Tamil version had hit the screens 13 days (Jan 25th - Feb 7th) after the worldwide release, but all these odds failed to stop the film from making a moolah at the Box Office. The success of this controversial film has given a new lease of life to the legendary actor who had already begun the work of Viswaroopam 2 which will release by the end of 2013.
