Telugu film industry-one of the talented Film Industry welcomes New Talent now and ever. The number of debutant filmmakers has shot through the roof over the past couple of years. Nearly 40-50% of them are being made by debutant directors. Moreover, most of these directors are opting for new actors, actresses to make their first film.
“These days there are plenty of opportunities for new actors to prove their talent, stated Dil Raju. Just look at the number of low and medium budget films being made these days. We need a lot more actors and actresses. It really doesn’t matter where they are from as long as they make a good Telugu film.”
The success of Ee Rojullo, directed by Maruthi, gave a big push to filmmakers who began to believe that it’s possible to make money at box office even if a film is made within a budget of Rs 1 crore. RGV’s Dongala Mutha, which was shot using multiple Canon 5D cameras, ignited the trend and now, it has become all the more prominent. The big question is whether most of these debutant filmmakers can withstand the competition and go on to do more Telugu films in future. Let’s wait and watch.
