'SAFE' Mission Irritates Film Exhibitors

Film Exhibitors who were demanding hike in ticket prices had received a jolt with government ordering them to follow all the fire safety measures before knocking it's door for help. The fire safety department has given the list of rules theatre-owners need to follow for ensuring the safety of the audience.

As per the rules, there should be certain free space around the theatre to park a fire engine. Fire alarms, emergency lights, battery back-up and public address system need to be there during emergency situation. A 10,000 litre water tank should in the premises to stop the fire. Many of the theatre-owners have been pleading to spare them by saying that they built the theaters when the government wasn't so particular about the fire safety measures and it's a herculean task for them follow the current rules.

Meanwhile, the hike of ticket rates proposal was put on hold due to difference of opinion between two groups within the film industry. While the exhibitors and big producers are in favor of hike, small producers were giving thumbs down by pointing out that this move will become a curse to the film industry as the number of people who throng theaters will reach an all time low due to heavy prices.
