The Tamil Nadu rights for Pawan Kalyan's 'Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu' is being quoted at Rs 55 lakh and the sources from Chennai say that the business may be closed at Rs 45 lakh.
On the other hand Prabhas' 'Rebel' was sold at Rs 33 lakh. It is a good sign for Telugu cinema, that is expanding its horizons by releasing in the interiors of Tamilnadu.
Besides, Puri Jagannath attempted to hit Tamilnadu in recent times with his dubbing version of 'Businessman' but that couldn't materialize. Now he is heading with his direct Telugu film 'Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu'.
And almost every Telugu film is looking at the ways to sell the release rights in other states as big as possible. Tollywood is second largest industry in India after Bollywood. And it's rightly competing with Kollywood as well.
