Virodhi at International Film Festival of India:
Even though he is an award winning director, both Film Industry and audiences ignored him for his boring movies. Still, it is only him that saved our pride sometime back. Today he might be sitting without showing any feelings, but on the inner side he might be having last laugh.
Tollywood had written off Neelakanta as a boring director as most of his recent movies are turning duds at Box Office. Last year, he came up with a movie 'Virodhi' on naxalism, and it tanked at Box Office miserably. Coming to point, we have already reported that no Telugu Cinema has made to India International Film Festival this year, bringing big insults to Tollywood to the core. At least, it is better last year with Neelakanta's 'Virodhi' placed on a high note at India International Film Festival. That is why Neelakanta will be feeling happy inside, says some critics, but a true creative art-film maker like him will care about industry not self.
We need people like Neelakanta to make our Tollywood pride, though the commercial equations are a bit bitter. Hope for the best from him, such that Tollywood will lift its head at least next year.
