Zanjeer Legal Issue: Producer Reveals facts!
The reports of remake compensation battle of Zanjeer getting projected as a family dispute seems to have hurt Amit Mehra, the producer of Ram Charan's Bollywood launch vehicle.
Amit, one of the three sons of producer Prakash Mehra who made 1973 hit Zanjeer, came out in open to explain the real facts. "It was me alone who inherited our father's passion for cinema. Although my brothers have no interest in films, every time I wish to remake one of my father's films I have to pay compensation for them. I'm willing to bear the pain as long as my father's legacy is carried forward," he says.
The producer also disclosed that the dispute is now not between the three brothers, but between one of his brothers Puneet Mehra and the writers duo Salim Khan-Javed Akhtar (the script writers of 1973 Zanjeer) who were also demanding the compensation for the remake. "I have already submitted the compensation amount to the court. So, the final verdict will give a clarity on who among Puneet Mehra and Salim Khan-Javed Akhtar will get it," clarifies Amit.
On the other hand, Amit is thrilled with the way the remake has been shaping up. Combination scenes of Charan and Priyanka are said to the major highlight of the film. The Hyderabad schedule wrap up party in which the cast and crew participated lasted till 4 am on Wednesday.
