Nayak Audio Review: Thumbs Up
Thaman, who has been delivering populist tunes at will has come up with yet another winner. This is the first time he has composed music for Ram Charan's film and he made sure that it is special. Here is a quick look at the songs.
1.Laila o Lailaa
Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Ranjith, Rahul, Naveen
Lyrics : Chandra Bose
Most of you must have already seen full video of this song. It is a typical pub song with retro beats and Ram Charan has just rocked the floor. On audio this song slowly grows on you. But with visuals this should be the best song in the film.
2.Kathi Lanti Pilla
Singers: Thaman, Shefali Alvaris
Lyrics: Chandra Bose
After 'Sir Osthara..' Thaman has done yet another peppy melody with nice rap beats. This song may not be instant winner, but after repeated hearings this will be ticked as the best song of the album. You can't help but tap your feet and croon 'Madam Madam..' along with Thaman while listening to this song. Excellent work from the young musician!
3.Subhalekha Rasukunna
Singers: Haricharan, Shreya Ghoshal
Lyrics: Veturi
Being a remix of classic melody one would expect this song to be the highlight of the album. Poor choice of male singer and fast forward mode of the original made this a flop on audio. Only good visuals should save this song. Better avoid remixing classics if you can't make them sound better.
4.Oka Choopuke Padipoya
Singers: Vijay Prakash, Bindhu Mahima
Lyrics: Bhaskara Bhatla
Just okay tune and okay rhythms. However this song has very good choreography from what we got to see from the teaser. So this also should work on screen. This song comes fifth in the album. Just only a bit better than the awful remix version of Subhalekha.
5.Nellorae
Singers: Jaspreet Jasz, Suchitra
Lyrics: Sahiti
After composing excellent item song 'Puvvay Puvvay' in Dookudu, Taman has outperformed himself with this fast paced item song. This is already a big hit with the masses and will be one of the main attractions for the film. Thaman has set high standards for himself with this song. He should do very much better to beat this item song in future.
6 Hey Naayak
Singer: Shreya Ghoshal
Lyrics: Chandra Bose
Despite few silly lyrics and expressions from Chandra Bose, this song works because of catchy tune and excellent rendering of Shreya Goshal. This is one of the best songs in the album and if placed right in the movie, this would work wonders.
Thaman has done fabulous job for this album. He made sure that this audio clicks instantly with the masses. This film is an out and out mass entertainer and the songs add value to it. Naayak audio scores 3.5 on a scale of 5 and if the film is decent enough, the songs will definitely help to conquer the box office.
