Ban on English Titles in Tollywood?
Though there are many states who do a lot towards promoting and preserving their language, Andhra Pradesh is one place where a powerful and sweet language like Telugu is actually neglected a lot. But things might be changing with Mandali Budda Prasad becoming the chairman of the Adhikara Bhasha Sangham.
It is heard that Budda Prasad has been going through a series of high level meetings in order to boost the presence of Telugu. As part of that, discussions are on about banning English titles for Telugu films and also those films that come to Tollywood in dubbed version through Tamil, Kannada etc.
In Tamil Nadu, most of the films have Tamil titles and moreover, they get an exemption from the local government. Budda Prasad has reportedly mentioned that talks are on with government. If this happens then there would be some Telugu feel for the native audience. Let us see what happens.
